Hey, where’d that Shrinking Violet person go?

I’ve been missing in action online because of serious computer problems. A few days ago my main computer that I use to blog and surf (and email and research) decided it wouldn’t boot in anything but Safe Mode, and until that’s fixed, I may not blog or visit your blogs very much. I may not answer email very promptly either, for those of you who keep in touch with me that way.

It’s been an uphill battle, two steps forward, one step back. Hopefully my resident computer medicine man will soon complete his magical mumbo jumbo, drive out the evil computer spirit thingies, and I’ll be a force to be reckoned with on the Internet. Since I never was before, that’ll be a feat of magic for sure.

Fortunately this doesn’t effect my writing computer, which I keep disconnected and safely backed up.

But I miss you!

I also miss being able to do a quick search whenever my brain hiccups out a question. I’ve become so used to having the world at my fingertips, this is a little like losing the use of a limb—or a major appliance.

Readers and fellow bloggers, thank you for your patience and stay tuned.

My condolences. My computer’s going to go box up soon, I fear, but I dread the changeover so I keep on keeping on til the final crash. However, since all I do is browse and process words, it wouldn’t pay to seek repairs. The cheapest computer available is more than I need. Computer problems are almost as bad as toothache. Good luck on the repairs.

So that’s where you were! I had faith that you would be back and here you are, as good (better) than ever. I missed you, too, and it’s good to know there will be more words of wit and wisdom in the offing.

Don’t worry, I guess everyone goes through that technical phase. :) The most important thing is you’re back.

Hmmm. So good for a writer to be prohibited from using his computer because of all the neat things to be done with them that time would better be spent on writing. Hmmm. So bad that writers must depend upon them for their craft these days.

I know what you mean about the world at your fingertips. I didn’t log on yesterday (unusual) and wished I had three times last evening. It’s nice to be able to find just about anything easily.
